Discussion:
Win32 build problem in latest nightlies

The following is happening:

I can only run the latest nightlies once. After I quit them and restart
them, they freeze on the splash screen. If I start up an older build
(say, RC1) and select a different theme, quit it, and then start the
latest nightly again, it will run again. But yet again, only once.
Rebooting the computer has no effect on it.

My system is as follows:
Celeron 433
Windows 98
256MB SDRAM
20GB HD

Is this a mozilla bug, or a problem with my machine? It seems awful
suspicious, and a little frightening so close to the release of 1.0.
I'm afraid I have no programming ability whatsoever, so the best I can
do is to act as the messenger. Hope this gets fixed soon!

Any ideas?

you are mixing theme's - this is a sure way to kill mozilla -

every version of mozilla _only_ works with themes designed for that version

if you want to use multiple versions you ned multiple profiles, one for
each
version, start mozilla with -ProfileManager and create a new profile, if
you migrate a earlier profile , make sure that either Modern or Classis is
the theme in use before the migration

No, I'm not. And, even if I were, this happens with the classic and
modern themes too.

even classic and modern are not safe across versions - if you want to use
multiple versions of mozilla/NS6 you need seperate profiles for wach build

OK, but here's what I want to know: it seems that RC1 themes are, in
general, supposed to be compatible with 1.0.0+ themes. Additionally, if
it was an incompatibility that was breaking it, why would it load the
first time?

I don't mean to be confrontational, and I will try using seperate
accounts when I get into work tomorrow. This just seemed a little bit
suspect to me.
